Sometimes we are in a rush - we don’t even have time to brush our hair in the morning, or sometimes were just too lazy to cook! Need a quick, tasty meal that can be ready in under 2 minutes? Give my protein packed, super healthy, lean protein shakes a go!

 Super quick skinny smoothie

  • 200ml Almond milk (26kcal, 2F, 0C, 1P )

  • 50g Banana (40kcal, 0F, 10C, 0P )

  • Handful spinach (7kcal, 0F, 1C, 1P)

  • 1 scoop Vanilla whey protein (100kcal, 1F, 1C, 21P)

This is my go-to smoothie, I have this pretty much most days! It’s packed full of protein and the spinach counts as one of your 5 a day, along with the banana. I choose to use almond milk in all of my blends as it is a low calorie alternative to milk and tastes much better than water! Almonds are protein rich and are an excelled source of fibre along with lots of minerals. Almonds are high in monounsaturated fats which have been proven to reduce the risk of heart disease. Bananas are one of my favourite fruits, they provide tons of energy which make them great to have before a workout and are packed with health benefits. Bananas are high in potassium, they help aid digestion (also a very high fibre food) and are high in antioxidants. I find it so hard to eat spinach on its own, which is why I like to blend it into my smoothie which makes it almost impossible to taste. Spinach is high in fibre and high in lots of vitamins and minerals. Be like Popeye! Haha!

Berry burst morning blend

  • 50g Blueberries (28 kcal, 0F, 7C, 1P)

  • 50g raspberries (30kcal, 0F, 7C, 1P)

  • Handful spinach (7kcal, 0F, 1C, 1P)

  • 200ml almond milk (26kcal, 2F, 0C, 1P)

  • 1 scoop strawberry whey protein (100kcal, 1F, 1C, 21P)

  • Handful of ice (to make smoothie a bit thicker!)

I love love love berries! And they are so good for you too! You can make this smoothie even cheaper and easier by using frozen berries if you feel like you need to (although fresh is always better if possible!) Blueberries have masses of health benefits! They lower blood pressure, aid in promoting a healthy heart due to the high fibre, vitamin C and many other benefits. Both blueberries and raspberries aid digestion due to their high fibre content (raspberries are a tad higher in fibre!) Raspberries are high in anti oxidants and health benefits such as help fight cancer, help with anti-inflammatory and many other benefits. I like to add strawberry protein to continue with the berry flavours, although vanilla and banana also work well.

Nutty nana shake

  • 50g banana (40kcal, 0F, 10C, 0P)

  • 20g crunchy organic peanut butter (119kcal, 10F, 2C, 5P)

  • 200ml almond milk (26kcal, 2F, 0C, 1P)

  • 1 scoop vanilla protein (100kcal, 1F, 1C, 21P)

  • Handful of ice

Even though this shake is higher in calories, it is my all time favourite protein shake… HANDS DOWN! Peanut butter, I am addicted, especially to the crunchy peanut butter type. I find myself downstairs at 3am scoffing into the tub with my spoon! I like the crunchy one from whole earth as it actually has massive peanut chunks which make it great for a smoothie as when blended the flavour really stands out. Like almonds, the fats from peanuts are monounsaturated which therefore improve heart health. Along with the huge antioxidant content, peanuts are high in vitamin E and high in protein! Winner winner!
